The first time we visited the Lodge at Koele we thought
it looked out of place. It does look different than the typical
Hawaii hotel, but we were wrong to wonder whether it belongs—it
fits beautifully with its surroundings. The Lodge at Koele
will transport your cares away and remind you what timeless
elegance really means. We loved being a part of it.
Setting
it apart from other resorts, the Lodge sits about 1500
feet above sea level, making it about 6 degrees cooler and
more comfortable when the coast swelters. Unlike the open
air lobbies of most beachfront hotels, this massive lobby
is warm and elegant, with high ceilings, exotic woods, and
furnishings fit for royalty.
The spacious, tranquil grounds are an extension of
the grace and style of the hotel. An authentic English Conservatory
filled with orchids highlights the garden and mixes with tropical
flowers and trees and the towering Cook pines so distinctive
of Lanai.
We’ve
never seen guestrooms like the ones at the Lodge and the Manele
Bay. Each room looks like it was individually decorated
by a talented professional. Even the standard rooms are exceptional,
and the larger rooms and suites are works of art.

The Four Seasons Lanai Manele Bay is the hub of activity for the island of Lanai.
Because all hotel guests on Lanai, including those at the Lodge
at Koele, have use of the Manele Bay beachfront and pool,
this place is popular. A rich blend of Asian and tropical furnishings
and artwork with dramatic colors dominates the lobby and the view
out to the ocean.
The
swimming pool is in the center of the grounds,
and the bright crimson bougainvillea flowers offer a beautiful
contrast next to the white hotel. You can get lost following
the open-air walkways to your room. They spared no expense
on the landscaping including beautiful waterfalls, lagoons,
and lush tropical flowers and vegetation.
The
guest rooms at Manele Bay are light and spacious with
high ceilings and exceptional furnishings. Top-quality fabrics
with extra decor items such as Asian vases add touches only
found in exclusive resorts. We came home wishing we could
decorate our own bedroom exactly the same way!
